Who Are We? |
![]() |
A4everFamily is made up of a widely diverse group of adoptive parents. Here's some interesting information about us:
We are:
Our ages range from about 30-55. We live all across the United States:
And Canada!
We have anywhere from 1 to 11 children. We are first-time moms, longtime moms, and everything in between. All of us have internationally adopted children (some have more than one.) Some have also adopted domestically. Others have biological and/or stepchildren. Our group includes parents who've adopted children from their own birth culture (Korean-Americans adopting Korean children.) All of our adoptive children (at least the ones we're primarily writing about on this website) arrived home as babies; most before the age of 7 months. Although a couple spent time in orphanages, the overwhelming majority was in quality foster care in their birth countries. A common thread unites our diverse group: we wish that we had been better educated about attachment BEFORE we brought our children home. All of us have encountered difficulties. In our journey, we have learned a lot of information that we want to make available to other adoptive families. Our hope and prayer is that our stories will help to improve the lives of other adoptive children and their families. Heidi Louella, M.Ed. Cynthia Hockman-Chupp, M.Ed.
